For this project I had to design parasitic extension to Wean Hall, one of the more brutalist buildings on campus. The design of Wean hall separates every department in the building by floor. It does not leave many places for students or faulty of different majors to come together and interact. My idea was create areas that could connect spaces within the building that could break the strict division of departments. To achieve this I created pods that would rest on the half floor and be accessible from the stairwells. They would not belong to one department’s floor so anyone could access them.
